A type of repair that fills a flaw that extends through the full thickness of the metal wall, specifically those that occur with the removal of and rods. Circular plugs are often threaded in order to mechanically lock them in place. See I.4.

Note: It is not always easy to distinguish a plug from a . Radiography is often necessary.
