The mythical Trojan War can be seen as the first war to defend European values. Drawing on its story, this performance reaches back to the ancient history of European culture, seeking the sources of today’s conflicts and addressing the symptoms of a widespread contemporary crisis. Exploring the roots of European identity is especially important today, when Europe faces the necessity of redefining its values. Multiculturalism collides with a fear of strangers and the idea of expanding borders clashes with national egoism. Trojan War is directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna, artistic director of acclaimed Polish theater TR Warszawa.
