This is a past event
Celebrations honoring the gods were central to life in antiquity. In ancient Greece, a pre-spring festival for Dionysos offered a special treat: wine tasting. Known as the Anthesteria, it was held during the full moon in February or March when stored wine vessels were opened and the newly matured vintage was finally tasted. Explore ancient wine practices and myths with a gallery tour of Greek and Roman artworks. Then enjoy a selection of wines from Greece and southern Italy in side-by-side tastings led by wine educator Giammario Villa. Finish with a delicious dessert wine and dark chocolate pairing. Tickets are $75; includes hearty appetizers. Limited to 40 participants. Open to guests 21 and over. Complimentary parking.
This event is offered on both Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16.
