The Greek island of Kythera provides unique insight about life in the ancient world from the Minoan Bronze Age through the Roman period and beyond. Archaeologist Cyprian Broodbank presents highlights of a twenty-year exploration by the Kythera Island Project of this Aegean island's landscapes that reveal a rich yet complex history of trade and power networks. He shares recent discoveries from this summer's investigation of the city of ancient Kythera and tells how cutting-edge methods are transforming the ways archaeologists investigate sites in and beyond the Mediterranean.
