Many global institutions use the Getty Vocabularies as a trustworthy foundation for their knowledge repositories. This page highlights a selection of the peer organizations across the sector of libraries, archives, and museums that use and reference Getty Vocabularies data.

The Getty Vocabularies are rich knowledge bases that power databases and scholarship around the world.

• Many museums use the Getty Vocabularies terms for disambiguation on their collection pages, including Art Institute of Chicago, Hearst Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent, Flemish Art Collection, Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory, Portland Art Museum, and more.
• AAT Taiwan and Tesauro de Arte & Arquitectura in Chile both contribute to the Getty Vocabularies and display Art & Architecture Thesaurus® (AAT) data on their own sites.
• The Library of Congress suggests AAT for their MARC (machine-readable cataloging) description in their Resource Description and Access Toolkit.
• VIAF® (Virtual International Authority File) includes Union List of Artist Names® (ULAN) in their concatenated search.
• Society for American Archivists uses AAT for search.
• The ARIADNE portal uses AAT for its underlying search across concatenated databases.
• Linked Art recommends Getty Vocabularies usage on the Linked Art required terms page.
• National Museum of Sweden’s collection pages link to ULAN.
• The Digital Public Library of America sometimes publishes collections that use Getty Vocabulary Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs).
