Student Gallery Guide interns shared the Getty galleries with young visitors from across Los Angeles.

Getty Unshuttered

Getty Unshuttered was a multi‑year, photography‑focused program offered from 2018–2024. The onsite component paired young photographers with teaching‑artist mentors, and a suite of teacher resources supported instruction in photography fundamentals and the connections between activism and image‑making. Nationwide teen photography open calls were also held in 2021, 2022, and 2024, with selected works exhibited at the Getty Center.

Latin Academy

Latin Academy (Academia Aestiva) was a free week-long summer program which provided high school students an immersive Latin and cultural experience of the Roman world. Spoken Latin in the mornings was followed by object and art-based learning in the afternoons. The program ran from 2010–2023.
