Title I Bus Funding

The Getty Center and Getty Villa Museum offer subsidized transportation to eligible organizations or Title I Schools in Los Angeles County. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SUMMER 2024 (7/10/2024 - 8/9/2024)

• Be a Title I school (according to the California Department of Education), a nonprofit 501(c)3, or an organization serving lower-income communities (i.e. high percentage of families within the immediate service area are below the median income range, or within, or engaging with, a neighborhood that has been identified as having little to no arts programming).
• Be located within 30 miles of the Getty Center or Villa.
• Fill each requested bus with at least 30 students.
• Schedule a visit between July 10, 2024 - August 9, 2024.
• You must use our designated bus companies, TLC or Fast Deer, for transportation. We cannot fund district buses or buses from other transportation companies.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-2025 (9/3/2024 - 6/30/2025)

• Be a Title I school (according to the California Department of Education).
• Be located within 30 miles of the Getty Center or Villa.
• Fill each requested bus with at least 45 students.
• Schedule a visit between September 3, 2024 - June 30, 2025.
• You must use our designated bus companies, TLC or Fast Deer, for transportation. We cannot fund district buses or buses from other transportation companies.

IMPORTANT

• A standard bus most often seats up to 50 students (plus 5 chaperones). Please consider when requesting funding the Getty's goal of serving as many schools as possible. For this reason, we require a minimuum of 45 students to obtain a funded bus, and provide a maximum of 2 funded buses per visit request.
• Funding is limited and not guaranteed until confirmed in writing by the Getty Center or Villa.
• Funds are offered to those meeting the eligibility requirements on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is depleted.
• If authorized, you will receive an email with further instructions after we receive your school visit request.
• If not authorized, you will receive a denial email after we receive your school visit request.
• If you are not approved for a bus, your application will still be processed and a field trip will be scheduled for your group, unless you indicate otherwise on the School Visit Request Form.
