Reference Assistance for Conservation Professionals
Customized research services to heritage conservation professionals worldwide

Information specialists at the Conservation Institute offer reference assistance and customized research services to heritage conservation professionals worldwide.
Reference assistance is available for the Conservation Collection at the Getty Library—a specialized collection of nearly 70,000 titles related to cultural heritage conservation. This collection complements the Getty Library’s general and special collections, which focus on the history of art, architecture, and archaeology. Resources in the Conservation Collection span a wide range of disciplines, from the pure and applied sciences to the humanities. The collection is accessible through the Getty Library Catalog, and materials may be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.
The Conservation Institute also maintains a reading room and a reference collection of approximately 2,000 titles. These include core conservation journals, conference proceedings, reference works, print and online science resources, dictionaries, encyclopedias, scientific handbooks, Conservation Institute publications, and geographic resources such as travel guides, maps and atlases.
