Host Jessie Hendricks isn’t “a hoarder, per se,” but she will admit to keeping a few boxes of old costumes and props in her office that are a bit past their purpose.

Recently, however, Jessie was inspired by the fashion designer Peder Cho, who turned old Getty exhibition banners into wearable art.

In this episode, Jessie learns how to upcycle (to reuse waste material to create a product of higher quality or value than the original). Jessie invites Cho to her office to choose which items to use as material, then meets him at his Los Angeles studio where they design, cut, and sew the bits of old fabric into a new, one-of-a-kind object. Along the way, Jessie learns a lesson about trial and error.
