About

The Research Services department at the Getty Conservation Institute supports the Institute’s mission by providing expertise and resources to conservation staff throughout Getty and to professionals worldwide. Our specialists in heritage conservation information offer reference assistance, customized research services, and bibliographic tools and training. The department is also responsible for developing the Getty Library’s Conservation Collection and managing AATA—Getty’s free research database of abstracts covering literature on the conservation of material cultural heritage.

The department also manages the Conservation Institute’s professional opportunities: the Conservation Guest Scholars program; Getty Graduate Internships in Conservation at the Institute; and the Getty Post-Baccalaureate Internships program, as well as sponsor Library Research Grant opportunities for use of materials in the Conservation Collection.
