Docents

The Getty Docent Program is opening a small recruitment period for volunteer docents who work in the Getty Villa’s Family Forum. These docents welcome Getty visitors, often families and school groups, to the education space and engage them with the activities in the room, such as the drawing vases, the shadow play screen, and the tables featuring stencils for the creation of rubbings. No experience is required and training for the position will only require a few days. If you are interested in this role, please click this link to take you to the application. If you have any questions, please reach out to docent@getty.edu. We look forward to hearing from you!

Getty Docents connect with people, inspiring a love of art and shaping memorable experiences of the architecture and gardens at the Getty Center and Getty Villa. The Docent Program welcomes diverse applicants who are eager to share their creativity and passion with students and visitors from our community and around the world. We are committed to the ideals of generosity, inclusivity, truth, and the belief that the docent corps should be representative of the great diversity of Los Angeles. You do not need an art degree or any artistic training to be a docent. All you need is a passion to connect our visitors and students with museums and the visual arts through shared experiences.
