Do I have to pay admission to the Getty Center?
No. Admission to the Getty Center is free, no ticket or reservation required. However, there is a parking fee of $15 per car, but $10 after 5 p.m.

Do I need a parking reservation to come to the Getty Center?
No. Parking reservations are neither required nor accepted at the Getty Center. Parking is based on availability.

Do I have to pay to park at the Getty Center?
Yes. While admission to the Getty Center is free, there is a parking fee. Parking is $15 per car or motorcycle, but $10 after 5:00 p.m. for the Getty Center's evening hours on Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as for all evening public programming, including music, film, lectures, and other special programs.

How do I pay for parking at the Getty Center?
Our self-service pay stations make it convenient to pay for parking at the Getty Center. Take a ticket upon entering the parking structure, park your car, and then bring your ticket to any of the parking pay stations, or to the parking office at the tram departure station, to have it validated. All pay stations accept credit cards and many accept cash. You will need a validated ticket to exit the parking structure.

Find the stations by the elevators on every level of the parking structure, as well as behind the tram station at the top of the hill. Parking fees remain unchanged at $15 before 5:00 p.m., $10 after.

If I make a reservation for an event or the restaurant, do I still need to pay for parking?
Yes. While admission to the Getty Center is free, there is a parking fee. Parking is $15 per car, but $10 after 5:00 p.m. for the Getty Center's evening hours on Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as for all evening public programming, including music, film, lectures, and other special programs.

Is there parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the Getty Center?
Street parking in the neighborhoods is restricted.

I've got an oversized vehicle. Can I park at the Getty Center?
Parking for vehicles between 6'10" and 12'6" tall and of standard car length is available on level P1 of the parking structure. There is no parking for RVs, motor homes, limousines, and other large vehicles.

I've got an electric car. Can I plug in?
Yes. Limited parking with plug-ins for electric vehicles is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I ride my bicycle or motorcycle to the Getty Center?
Yes. Motorcycles will be charged $15 for parking, and bicycles may be parked at no cost. Groups of 15 or more motorcycles require a reservation and will be asked to pay $15 per parking space. Two motorcycles can fit in one space.

What are my public transportation options?
The Getty Center is served by Metro Rapid Line 761, which stops at the main gate on Sepulveda Boulevard. To find the route that is best for you, call 323-GO-METRO (323-466-3876) or use the Trip Planner on www.metro.net, the Web site of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Can I just be dropped off?
Yes. Passenger drop-offs are permitted from cars or vans of 15 passengers or less. For safety reasons, passengers should be dropped off in the designated area located outside of the main parking structure.

Is photography allowed at the Getty Center?
Handheld and video cameras using existing light are welcome in the permanent collection galleries. Please check at the entrance of the changing exhibitions for any restrictions in those galleries. Flash photography, tripods, and monopods are not permitted. Any photography is for personal use only and may not be sold. Wedding and engagement photography is not permitted.

Any commercial or other unauthorized use of any transmission, picture, film/type, writing, drawing, or other depiction or description of any Getty name, mark, or logo is prohibited without prior specific written approval of the J. The Getty may photograph, film, or videotape visitors for educational and promotional purposes. Use of a ticket is implied consent for the use of the holder's likeness, voice, or video image for marketing purposes.

Is there cell phone service at the Getty Center?
Yes; reception can be spotty, however. If you plan to meet others at the Getty Center, we recommend that you agree on a meeting place and time in advance in case cell service is unavailable. The Tram Arrival Plaza (near the Museum Entrance, at the top of the hill) is a convenient meeting point.

Is there wireless Internet service at the Getty Center?
Yes; there is free Wi-Fi available at some public seating areas of the Getty Center. Please note that signal strength varies with location.

Are pets allowed at the Getty Center?
No. Pets are not allowed on the Getty Center grounds or in the parking areas. Assistive animals, such as guide dogs for the blind, are permitted.

I ordered tickets online. How will I get my tickets?
When you order Villa tickets online, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Getty with the subject line "Your Tickets to the Getty." This e-mail contains your ticket(s) as a PDF attachment. Print and bring these bar-coded tickets with you to the Villa in order to gain admittance.

Note: In lieu of printed tickets, you may bring the ticketing confirmation number included in the email.

How do I print my tickets?
Open the e-mail that contains your tickets. Locate the PDF attachment, open it in Adobe® Reader®, and print it in full.

If you cannot open the PDF attachment, you probably need Adobe Reader software. Download the latest version of Reader for free from Adobe's Web site.

Windows users: if you can open the PDF but cannot print it, try checking the "Print as image" box at the top right of the screen that appears after you select the "Print" command. If you still cannot print, try printing your tickets from another computer or on a different printer.

Your e-mail provider may have blocked the e-mail, thinking it was spam. Follow your provider's procedures for retrieving possible spam. Such e-mails are often stored in a "Junk," "Bulk," or "Spam" folder.

Are same-day tickets available for the Getty Villa?
Visitors cannot be admitted without a ticket. Same-day tickets are often available online. Check ticket availability here.

Yes, as long as you have an advance, timed-entry ticket and you are dropped off inside the entrance gate from a vehicle of nine passengers or fewer. Security officers or Visitor Services staff at the Getty Villa entrance gate will direct you to the drop-off area.
