Do I have to pay admission to the Getty Center?
No. Admission to the Getty Center is free, no ticket or reservation required. However, there is a parking fee of $15 per car.

Do I need a parking reservation to come to the Getty Center?
No. Parking reservations are neither required nor accepted at the Getty Center. Parking is based on availability.

Do I have to pay to park at the Getty Center?
Yes. While admission to the Getty Center is free, there is a parking fee. Parking is $15 per car. It is FREE after 5:00 p.m. for the Getty Center's evening hours on Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as for all evening public programming, including music, film, lectures, and other special programs.

I've got an oversized vehicle. Can I park at the Getty Center?
Parking for vehicles between 6'10" and 12'6" tall and of standard car length is available on level P1 of the parking structure. There is no parking for RVs, motor homes, limousines, and other large vehicles.

I've got an electric car. Can I plug in?
Yes. Parking for electric vehicles is available on parking level P2 of the Getty Center.

Can I ride my bicycle or motorcycle to the Getty Center?
Yes. Motorcycles and bicycles may be parked on the entry level of the Getty Center parking structure at no cost. Groups of 15 or more motorcycles require a reservation and will be asked to pay $10 per parking space. Two motorcycles can fit in one space.

What are my public transportation options?
The Getty Center is served by Metro Rapid Line 761, which stops at the main gate on Sepulveda Boulevard. To find the route that is best for you, call (800) COMMUTE or (800) 252-9040 (TDD) or use the Trip Planner on www.metro.net, the Web site of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Can I just be dropped off?
Yes. Passenger drop-offs are permitted from cars or vans of 15 passengers or less. For safety reasons, passengers should be dropped off in the designated area located outside of the main parking structure.

Can groups visit the Getty Center?
Yes, groups are welcome at the Getty Center! Please see tips for groups for information on reservations, parking, dining options, and free tours and activities for groups.

Is photography allowed at the Getty Center?
Handheld and video cameras using existing light are welcome in the permanent collection galleries. Please check at the entrance of the changing exhibitions for any restrictions in those galleries. Flash photography, tripods, and monopods are not permitted.

Any commercial or other unauthorized use of any transmission, picture, film/type, writing, drawing, or other depiction or description of any Getty name, mark, or logo is prohibited without prior specific written approval of the J. Paul Getty Trust. Please call the Communications Department at (310) 440-7300 for more information.

The Getty may photograph, film, or videotape visitors for educational and promotional purposes. Use of a ticket is implied consent for the use of the holder's likeness, voice, or video image for marketing purposes.

Is there cell phone service at the Getty Center?
Yes; reception can be spotty, however. If you plan to meet others at the Getty Center, we recommend that you agree on a meeting place and time in advance in case cell service is unavailable. The Tram Arrival Plaza (near the Museum Entrance, at the top of the hill) is a convenient meeting point.

Is there wireless Internet service at the Getty Center?
Yes; there is free wi-fi available at some public seating areas of the Getty Center. Please note that signal strength varies with location.

Are pets allowed at the Getty Center?
No. Pets are not allowed on the Getty Center grounds or in the parking areas. Assistive animals, such as guide dogs for the blind, are permitted.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages to the Getty Center?
Alcohol may not be brought onto the premises. However, beer and wine are available for purchase on site.

Do I have to pay admission to the Getty Villa?
No. Admission to the Getty Villa is free. However, an advance, timed ticket is required to enter the site. Please call (310) 440-7300 or book tickets online. There is also a parking fee for cars and motorcycles. Parking is $15 per car or motorcycle. It is FREE after 5:00 p.m. for all evening public programming.

How do I get a ticket to the Getty Villa?
Admission to the Getty Villa is always free; an advance, timed ticket is required.

I ordered tickets online. How will I get my tickets?
When you order Villa tickets online, you will receive two e-mails: first a confirmation e-mail from Museum Ticketing Network with the subject line "Museum Ticketing Network," and then an e-mail from the Getty with the subject line "Your Tickets to the Getty." This second e-mail contains your ticket(s) as a PDF attachment. You must print these bar-coded tickets and bring them to the Getty Villa in order to gain admittance.

How do I print my tickets?
You must print your tickets in order to use them. Open the e-mail that contains your tickets. Locate the PDF attachment, open it in Adobe® Reader®, and print it in full.

If you cannot open the PDF attachment, you probably need Adobe Reader software. Download the latest version of Reader for free from Adobe's Web site.

Windows users: if you can open the PDF but cannot print it, try checking the "Print as image" box at the top right of the screen that appears after you select the "Print" command. If you still cannot print, try printing your tickets from another computer or on a different printer.

I already booked tickets to the Getty Villa but no longer have the e-mail with the tickets. What do I do?
Access your Museumtix account here, then do the following:
• Click on "Order History" at the top right
• Click the number that corresponds to your Getty Villa order
• Click the "resend ticket" button.

Your tickets will be sent to you at the e-mail address specified in your Museumtix account.

I ordered print-at-home tickets to the Getty Villa, but never received an e-mail with the tickets. What happened?
Your e-mail provider may have blocked the e-mail, thinking it was spam. Follow your provider's procedures for retrieving possible spam. Such e-mails are often stored in a "Junk," "Bulk," or "Spam" folder.

Are same-day tickets available for the Getty Villa?
Visitors cannot be admitted without a ticket. Same-day tickets are sometimes available online. Check ticket availability here.

Is there a waiting list for Getty Villa tickets?

I have tickets to an evening event at the Getty Villa. How early can I arrive?
For lectures and theater events beginning at 8:00 p.m., you may arrive beginning at 7:00 p.m.

How is parking provided at the Getty Villa?
Your ticket includes an on-site parking reservation. Parking is $15 per car or motorcycle, but FREE for all evening public programming held after 5:00 p.m.

No walk-ins are permitted except for those arriving by public transportation. Passengers must have their Villa admission ticket hole-punched by the driver before exiting the bus in order to enter the Villa.

Passengers exiting at PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and Coastline Drive to visit the Getty Villa must have their Villa admission ticket hole-punched by the driver before exiting the bus in order to enter the Villa.

Can I just be dropped off?
Yes, as long as you have an advance, timed ticket and you are dropped off inside the entrance gate from a vehicle of nine passengers or fewer. Security officers or Visitor Services staff at the Getty Villa entrance gate will direct you to the drop-off area.

Only for some visitors. Because the Getty Villa is located in a canyon, most mobile devices do not receive a signal. If you plan to meet others at the Getty Villa, we recommend that you agree on a meeting place and time in advance. The Outdoor Classical Theater (the large open-air theater outside the Museum Main Entrance) is an ideal place to meet.

Is there wireless Internet service at the Getty Villa?
