About

Goal

This summer internship program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about financial investments in the nonprofit sector and gain valuable hands-on experience they can apply towards a future career.

Background

The Getty-Williams Investments Summer Internship was created in 2020 with the objective of providing a unique experience in the institutional investment management industry. Interns will learn about institutional portfolio management while diving into public market investments and alternative asset classes such as real estate, private equity, and venture capital.

Originally titled the Getty Investments Summer Internship, the internship was renamed in 2025 to honor Jim Williams, Getty's Chief Investment Officer from 2002 until his retirement in 2024, who championed the program's creation and whose commitment to developing future investment professionals has become a hallmark of the program. This commitment is further reinforced by an endowment he established, which allows Getty's investment staff to support talented individuals pursuing careers in finance and investing, thus continuing his legacy of mentorship.
