About
Goal
This research provides a multidimensional look at Venezuelan art critic, photographer, and art historian Alfredo Boulton. In addition to highlighting Boulton’s pioneering work on modern photography, this project analyzes his close relationships to artists of the period, contributions to the development of Venezuelan art historiography and criticism, and efforts to bring Venezuelan art to a global audience.
Outcomes
Exhibition highlighting Boulton's versatile career and contributions to Latin American art and illustrated publication with essays by scholars and specialists (fall 2023).

132 boxes containing over 4,000 photographs produced by Boulton, as well as his correspondence, published writings, and research materials
