About

Join London’s Royal Drawing School for a special class celebrating the Getty exhibition Learning to Draw. This live, online drawing session combines tutor-led guidance, insights from the exhibition curator, and a live model to explore how drawing shaped the practice of renowned artists working between 1550 and 1850.

Led by tutor Tara Versey, the class moves through a series of practical drawing exercises inspired by three exceptional works from the exhibition. Together, participants examine composition, materials, and mark-making, and consider how these masterful works reveal drawing as both a discipline and a foundation for artistic thinking.

Whether you are beginning your drawing journey or seeking to deepen existing skills, this session offers a chance to engage closely with historical artworks while developing your own drawing abilities—an inspiring way to start the new year.
