Paula Gaither
Bio
Paula is currently a Ph.D. student at Stanford, having spent a year as graduate curatorial intern at the Getty Villa in 2019-20. Prior to that, she earned her B.A. in Classics at Columbia and Master's from Oxford. She has excavated at Hadrian's Villa at Tivoli, and her research focuses on depictions of Black people in Hellenistic and Roman art, race and ethnicity in the ancient Mediterranean, the material culture of slavery, and the Roman economy.
