To support its educational work, the Panel Paintings Initiative produced a number of online resources, including:
Phenix, Alan and Chui, Sue Ann, eds. Facing the Challenges of Panel Painting Conservation: Trends, Treatments and Training: Proceedings of a Symposium at the Getty Center, May 2009. Los Angeles: The Getty Conservation Institute, 2011. Downloadable in 5 separate sections. A print-on-demand edition can be purchased at Lulu.com.
Dardes, Kathleen, and Andrea Rothe, eds. The Structural Conservation of Panel Paintings: Proceedings of a Symposium at the J. Paul Getty Museum, April 1995. Los Angeles: The Getty Conservation Institute, 1998. Downloadable in four separate sections. A bound copy is available for purchase at the Getty Store.
On May 17-18, 2009 the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, and the J. Paul Getty Museum hosted the symposium "Facing the Challenges of Panel Painting Conservation: Trends, Treatments and Training" at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. The symposium highlighted recent developments in panel paintings research and conservation and included panel discussions in which speakers reflected on their own formative experiences as panel conservators, and discussed training possibilities for the next generation of conservators.
