About
Goal
The Getty Marrow Emerging Professionals pilot program provided greater opportunities to participate in arts museums and nonprofits through meaningful entry level employment and mentoring that are crucial to building lasting arts careers for aspiring professionals from all types of underrepresented groups in the arts.
Approach
The program consisted of coordinated entry level jobs and mentoring at 10 Los Angeles arts institutions. The positions were funded through grants to the partner organizations listed below, all of which have demonstrated a strong commitment to providing greater opportunities in the arts. Getty also supported two jobs at the Getty Museum and Getty Research Institute. Getty Marrow alumni applied directly to the organizations hosting Emerging Professionals using these job position links.
The program complemented and extended the Foundation’s long-running Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship program, with all positions open only to Getty Marrow internship alumni.
