Digital Mellini expanded scholarly access to Pietro Mellini’s Inventory in Verse, 1681, a crucial resource for provenance and collections research. Beyond digitally publishing the inventory, project curators provided in-depth inquiry into the manuscript through textual, historical, and linguistic analyses and invited further investigation from researchers. Digital Mellini has been integral to the Getty Research Institute’s broader objective of creating living, collaborative forms of digital art history that contribute to evolving networks of knowledge.
