GIFs are the animated images we all use to sum up the hilariously relatable, capture viral moments, and enjoy cats wearing glasses.

Now, you can also use them for art appreciation.

Getty has joined Giphy, the GIF-hosting site that provides GIFs for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Slack, and iMessage.

Head to Getty’s Giphy page and you'll find GIFs...

Ready to up your social game with Getty-inspired GIFs and stickers? Here are a few tips to get started.

How to Add Getty GIFs to Social Media Posts

  1. To add GIFs on a social media or messaging platform, click the

button to create a new post. Then, click on the button that allows you to add GIFs and stickers to your post.

On Facebook and Twitter, it’s the square "GIF"; on Instagram Stories and Reels, it’s the square happy face icon; on iMessage, tap the pink magnifying glass icon; on Slack, type "/giphy" directly into your message, then type the keyword for the GIF you want to use, then press Enter.

  2. To find Getty’s GIFs and stickers, type “Getty” or “Getty Museum”

into the GIF search bar, which you’ll see after you click on the GIF icon. On Slack, type “/giphy Getty” into your message and press Enter, and a single GIF will randomly appear which you can choose to Send (use) or Shuffle (see another option).

  3. Many GIFs uploaded by other Giphy users, unaffiliated with the Getty

Museum, that are also tagged “Getty” will show up in your search. To see which options we created, check out our Giphy page.
