In 1974, Los Angeles was the center of the pop culture universe.

From the City of Angels came the California Sound, "the greatest night in television history” was produced right by The Grove and, most important (to us) of all, the Getty Villa Museum opened to the public on January 16, 1974.

Since then, visitors from all over the world have come to see Greek and Roman antiquities, enjoy the ocean breeze in its tranquil gardens, or be entertained in its outdoor classical theater.

To celebrate the opening of a one-of-a-kind destination, we invite you to take a trip back in time to get into the groove of ‘74 with 50 of the best TV Show soundtracks, and sounds of the day.

Enjoy, and read more about the history of the Getty Villa here.
