Know Before You Go

Duration

Completing the quest takes between 30 minutes and an hour. We invite you to enjoy the Villa for as much as you like by exploring our galleries and gardens too.

Planning your arrival

Please bring your tickets with you and have them open on your mobile device or printed. Your event ticket is also your entry to the Villa and will be checked upon arrival.

Note that during busy times of year and weekends, we recommend planning your visit to allow for at least 20 minutes to park, go through security, and make your way to the event.

Entrance to the Getty Villa is via the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) northbound. On the weekend of December 6 and 7, Caltrans is planning closures along the Sepulveda Pass of the I-405 freeway. Due to this, traffic may be heavier than usual on the PCH.

Event Check-In

Check-in at the event table by the entrance of the museum building (near the outdoor theater).

The Villa opens at 10am daily.

Strollers and child carriers

Front-facing child carriers are the only type of carrier permitted in galleries and strollers must be smaller than 31 in x 52 in (79 cm x 132 cm).

Complimentary strollers are available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Entry Pavilion.

Please read our FAQs for more details on planning your family visit.

Accessibility

Wheelchairs are also available for free rental on a first-come, first-served basis in the same location as our strollers.
