Charles Jencks’ book, The Iconic Building (Rizzoli, 2005), examined the then relatively recent phenomenon of the iconic landmark building, which challenged the traditional architectural monument. In this evening lecture, Jencks will re-examine the iconic building trend, more than ten years after the publication of his book, with a focus on the iconic building in the historic city.
