Sebastião Salgado: A Life in Photography

GETTY CENTER

Harold M. Williams Auditorium

Renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado comes to the Getty to reflect on his long and influential career. Salgado's many publications and exhibitions include Migrations: Humanity in Transition (recently re-issued as Exodus); Workers: An Archaeology of the Industrial Age; The Children: Refugees and Migrants, and most recently, Genesis. As the Getty presents an exhibition of Chris Killip's In Flagrante, a photographic series documenting the devastating impact of deindustrialization on working-class communities in northern England, Salgado's moving images of poor and powerless people around the globe have special resonance. Tickets $15.
