Adam, Lambert-Sigisbert (French sculptor, 1700-1759)

Note: Adam, son of Jacob-Sigisbert Adam and brother of Nicolas-Sébastien Adam, was received into the 'Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture' in Paris with his marble group 'Neptune Calming the Waves' in 1737. He worked very much in the manner of the Baroque and Bernini. And together with his brother conceived and executed the 'Triumph of Neptune and Amphitrite' for the Bassin de Neptune in the park at Versailles--the work for which they are both best known.
