The Düsseldorf catalogue archive consists of four boxes of archival material, including preparatory drawings of individual paintings in the Düsseldorf collection, wall elevations showing the display after 1763, and proof prints for the catalogue, all of which were used to produce La galerie électorale de Dusseldorff; ou, Catalogue raisonné de ses tableaux... in 1778. The archive contains the following materials:

This small-format, 1781 edition of the Düsseldorf catalogue features the full catalogue texts, but not the prints of the wall elevations. It served as a more affordable, handy guide to the Düsseldorf gallery than the 1778 edition.

François-Louis Colins's catalogue provides a brief inventory of all the paintings in the Düsseldorf gallery. Cataloguing the individual paintings by room, it provides some insight to how the paintings were ordered before Krahe's reinstallation in 1763.
