About

Goal

This project addressed an urgent need to survey Brazilian art history in order to meet the current demands of the field. Via a collaborative workshop, project contributors—scholars of various periods of Brazilian art, from precontact to the 20th century—examined the country's dynamic cultural encounters in order to reframe the art historical narrative in ways that respond to the specific conditions of Brazil.
