About

Goal

Marking the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus’s founding, this project explored the design school’s theoretical bases and enduring global influence. This research developed an alternate history of the school beyond that of the Bauhaus masters, turning equal attention to its students. At issue were the sociopolitical motivations underpinning the Bauhaus’s educational reforms, the relationships between expressionism, abstraction, and architecture, and the school’s strategies to engage international audiences.
