Scheduling FAQs

Q: May I make a reservation over the phone?
Due to program staff availability and the number of details we must collect, please use the online request system. We prioritize sending confirmations according to the date of the visit requested. If you have any questions on the status of your request or you have not received a confirmation email within four weeks, please call (310) 440-7539 and speak with a Youth Development Education Specialist.

Q: I have more/fewer students than I indicated in my request. How do I make a change?
To modify attendance on an existing request, please send an email to gettyteens@getty.edu with your session date and details at least 10 days in advance.

Step 2: Prep students with the correct software
Please ensure that the correct software (Zoom) has been installed for each student. Test mics and headsets before your session. We require one teacher for every session. Teachers must be present and help monitor class during the session.

Remind parents/caregivers and students that three factors for a successful session involve removing distractions, maintaining focus during sessions, and being courteous to other classmates and educators.

Prepping FAQs

Q: What responsibilities do teachers have?
We ask teachers to help maintain a sense of order for students participating in discussions via video or in the chat.

Step 3: Confirm Zoom Link
After confirming a date and time slot, the Getty Youth Development team will send a confirmation email prior to the session which includes Zoom information. For security purposes, please only share the Zoom link with your class.

Zoom FAQs

Q: Do we have to use Zoom? Could we use another software?
To maintain a consistency in operation, we ask for teachers and classes to join our Zoom session in order to avoid technical problems.

Q: I have students that may be uncomfortable talking on camera. Are there other ways to communicate with the educator during the session?
The chat function will be available for students. We want to ensure that each student has a positive experience.
