Wall paintings and mosaic pavement are being photographed in detail before, during, and after treatment.

Condition Assessment

Comprehensive documentation of the decorated surfaces in the tablinum was carried out in graphic, photographic, and written form to better understand original and reconstruction materials and techniques, assess the condition of the wall paintings, and identify the types and extent of deterioration. This documentation serves as a diagnostic tool for the development of the conservation plan.

Illustrated Glossary

As part of the graphic documentation, the team developed an illustrated glossary to describe terms related to original technique, previous interventions, and conditions.

Monitoring

Additionally, detailed digital photography was done prior to treatment, and monitoring locations were established and are being tracked over the course of the project to monitor the efficacy of the treatment and change over time.
