Chinese (traditional) ..... 使用公帑照顧貧困或無助之人,並為其安排工作的建築場所。在美國,此機構興起於十八世紀中期,通常由地方政府、州政府或教區所創辦;在英國,則最早是由修道院管理發放救濟品,後來則由私人慈善團體資助。至於監禁殘疾者、年老的窮人或乞丐,並對其實行感化改正教育的建築物,稱為「貧民習藝所(建築物)」。若是單純只發放救濟品的場所,則稱為「施賑所(建築物)」。 |
