Note: Style of bookbinding decoration popular in England ca. 1550-ca. 1650, characterized by a design of Islamic inspiration that is usually blocked, with both centerpiece and cornerpiece designs, and having cornerpiece designs that may be combined to form the centerpiece. Formerly called "Lyonese binding."

Manier van boekversiering die tussen 1550 en 1650 in Engeland populair was, gekenmerkt door ontwerpen die waren geïnspireerd op islamitische kunst en die men gewoonlijk in de band perste, met zowel versiering van de hoeken als het middelste gedeelte. Voorheen noemde men dit de 'Lyonees boekbinden'. |
