Note: Refers to the style of architecture that emerged in Holland, France, and Germany after World War I and spread throughout the world, becoming the dominant architectural style until the 1970s. The style is characterized by an emphasis on volume over mass, the use of lightweight, mass-produced, industrial materials, rejection of all ornament and color, repetitive modular forms, and the use of flat surfaces, typically alternating with areas of glass. |

Verwijst naar de architectuurstijl die zich na de Eerste Wereldoorlog ontwikkelde in Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland, en die zich vervolgens over de wereld verspreidde om tot de jaren 70 van de 20ste eeuw de dominante architectuurstijl te blijven. De stijl kenmerkt zich door de nadruk op volume in plaats van op massa, het gebruik van lichtgewicht, op grote schaal vervaardigde industriële materialen, en de totale verwerping van ornamenten en kleuren. Verder werden repetitieve modulaire vormen en vlakke oppervlakken gebruikt, afgewisseld met vlakken van glas. |

Se refiere al estilo de arquitectura que surgió en Holanda, Francia y Alemania después de la Primera Guerra Mundial y que se extendió en todo el mundo convirtiéndose en el estilo arquitectónico dominante hasta los años setenta. El estilo se caracteriza por un énfasis en el volumen sobre la masa, el uso de materiales industriales de peso ligero, producidos en masa, el rechazo de todo ornamento y color, formas modulares y repetitivas, y el uso de superficies lisas, típicamente alternadas con áreas de vidrio. |
