You are in residence at the Getty to pursue your individual research and, as a grantee, have no obligation to render services to your host program, other programs of the Getty, or any other institution. It is our expectation that Scholars and Fellows participate in weekly scholar programming and not take on responsibilities outside the Getty. Absences from the residency need to be approved by the Department Head. You are welcome to participate in many of the programs offered at the Getty Center and Getty Villa on a voluntary basis. The Scholar and Fellow Program is intended to provide an environment that fosters a sense of community and a forum for intellectual exchange. Please note that you are not to use Getty resources for political purposes.

Upon completion of your term, we ask that you present a brief report describing the outcomes of your research and evaluating the Scholars program.
