Caslon, William, I (English type founder and engraver, 1692 or 1693-1766)
|
Note: Caslon created his own type foundry in 1725. He was the first to cast Arabic type in England, and one of his fonts was used to print the Declaration of Independence in what is now the United States of America. His foundry was very successful and remained active under various owners, but under the Caslon name, for over 200 years. |
