Moretti, Luigi (Italian architect, 1907-1973)
|
Note: Architect whose first works were realized under Mussolini. His early career advancement was due to contacts within the Italian fascist party. After during WWII he developed his theory of "parametric architecture" based on mathetical constructs translated into built form. He founded the architecture magazine 'Spazio' in 1950, and in 1957 founded the Istituto Nazionale per la Ricera Matematica e Operativa per l'Urbanistica, or IRMOU. He realized many large-scale projects in the United States, Canada, Italy, and the Middle East from the 1960s through 1973. |
