Grosvenor, Robert (American sculptor, 1937-2025)
|
Note: Sculptor whose idiosyncratic works initially gained acclaim as expressions of Minimalism in New York during the 1960s, appearing in the noted show “Primary Structures” at the Jewish Museum in 1966, and co-founding a gallery in lower Manhattan called Park Place. Later works diverged from minimalist tendencies, though often these remained spare and made from industrial materials. He often worked with the bodies of automobiles or boats. |
