Padgett, Ron (American poet, essayist, and translator, born 1942)
|
Note: Padgett co-founded a literary journal 'The White Dove Review' with Dick Gallup, Joe Brainard, and Ted Berrigan while still in high school in Oklahoma. The White Dove published works by Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, LeRoi Jones, e.e. cummings, and Malcolm Cowley. Padgett later relocated to New York where he was active with the New York School of artists and poets. He has translated works by Guillaume Apollinaire, Blaise Cendrars, and Pierre Reverdy, among others. |
