Rouargue, Adolphe (French painter and lithographer, 1810-after 1870)
|
Note: Younger brother of Emile Rouargue, student of David d'Angers and Alexandre Colin. From 1831 to 1870, he featured in the Paris Salon. He painted a number of watercolors; including marine scenes, and views of Brittany, Normandy, and Venice. He is considered an important lithographer; and his "Architecture Pittoresque," an album of 50 plates depicting Paris monuments is cited as an example of his work in this medium. |
