Note: An artist and inventor who, in partnership with Steve Rutt, helped create a video synthesizer in the early 1970s. The Rutt/Etra device was one of the first to allow individual artists to manipulate a video signal in real time to create abstractions, animations, and special effects. It was intended to allow artists to compose visuals as a musician would compose music. |
