Note: Refers to all material substance and deep space included within the sphere of the gravitational attraction of the Sun, including the Sun, eight planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and all gas and dust that is gravitationally bound to the Sun. It extends much farther than the planets that orbit the Sun. The solar system also includes the Kuiper Belt that lies past Neptune's orbit, and Oort Cloud, which is the boundary of the Sun's gravitational influence, where orbiting objects can turn around and return closer to our Sun.
