Dutch ..... Sport waarin men kemphanen (mannelijke kippen) tegen elkaar laat vechten, vaak met metalen sporen aan hun poten. Deze sport werd in het verleden veel beoefend, maar is tegenwoordig in de meeste landen verboden. In de oudheid waren hanengevechten populair in India, China en Perziƫ; van daaruit verspreidde het fenomeen zich naar Griekenland, Klein-Aziƫ, Europa en Amerika. |
