Note: Acid that occurs in sour milk as a thick water-soluble liquid. It is induced by bacterial decomposition of sugar, a process of fermentation; it may also be found in molasses, many fruits, beer and wine. Lactic acid is used in dyeing and leather processing.

| Dutch ..... Zuur dat in zure melk zit als dikke, wateroplosbare vloeistof. Het ontstaat door de bacteriële ontbinding van suiker, een fermentatieproces. Het zit ook in stroop, veel vruchten, bier en wijn. Melkzuur wordt gebruikt bij verven en leerverwerking. |
