Dutch ..... Verwijst naar grotten die worden benut, meestal nadat ze zijn uitgegraven of anderszins zijn aangepast, als onderdak voor mensen of dieren, als opslagruimte, als heiligdom of als ruimte met een andere bestemming. De betekenis kan overlappen met die van de term 'rotsarchitectuur', maar grotarchitectuur hoeft niet per se in rotsen te zijn uitgehouwen, terwijl rotsarchitectuur niet altijd rond een grot is ontworpen.
