The term is most often applied to furniture and industrial design such as tableware rather than to architecture, though it is also found in extended use. |

Dutch ..... Ontwerpstijl voor industriële vormgeving en meubilair uit het midden van de 20ste eeuw die wordt gekenmerkt door organische vormen, een gebrek aan versieringen en een uitgebreid gebruik van hout (vaak teakhout). Meubilair in deze stijl voldoet over het algemeen aan de normen van de constructie, materialen en proporties van traditionele vormen, hoewel het meer gestroomlijnd is. De term wordt meestal gebruikt voor meubilair en industriële vormgeving zoals servies en niet voor architectuur, hoewel hij ook in bredere zin wordt gebruikt. |
