Note: Refers to the ancient Greek period and style that followed the Geometric period and existed from around 725 BCE to around 650 BCE, overlapping with the early portion of the Archaic period of Greek history. It developed in Corinth and spread throughout Greece, to Etruria, and to other places with connections to Greece. It grew out of greatly expanded Greek trade and the subsequent influence of Near Eastern and Egyptian cultures. It is characterized by the abandonment of the geometric shapes and stick figures of the Geometric period to favor curvilinear forms, fleshy figures, and new themes, including exotic animals and monsters, such as sphinxes and griffins.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de Oudgriekse stijl en periode die volgde op de Geometrische periode, van circa 725 v. Chr. tot circa 650 v. Chr. De stijl overlapte met het vroege deel van de Archaïsche periode in de Griekse geschiedenis. De stijl werd in Korinthië ontwikkeld en verspreidde zich over heel Griekenland, tot in Etrurië en andere plaatsen die met de Griekse wereld in contact stonden. De stijl kwam voort uit de enorm toegenomen Griekse handel en de invloed van het Nabije Oosten en de Egyptische culturen die hier het gevolg van was. Kenmerk van de stijl is het verdwijnen van de geometrische vormen en de dunne figuren uit de Geometrische periode ten faveure van kromlijnige vormen, gevulde figuren en nieuwe thema’s, waaronder exotische dieren en monsters zoals sfinxen en griffioenen. |

Se refiere al período y estilo griego antiguo que siguió al período Geométrico y que existió desde alrededor del 725 a.C a alrededor del 650 a.C y que se superpone con la parte anterior del período Arcaico de la historia griega. Desarrollado en Corinto y extendido a lo largo de Grecia, a Etruria y a otros lugares con conexiones con Grecia. Fue resultado de la gran expansión del comercio y de la influencia subsecuente de culturas orientales y egipcias cercanas.
