Note: Display cabinets having many openings or drawers, that were originally designed to hold and display multiple relics of a saint, martyr, deity, or other holy person. Later the term came to mean similar cabinets intended to hold historical artifacts or curiosities of any kind, usually modest in size and having a common theme. |

Dutch ..... Vitrinekasten met meerdere openingen of laden die oorspronkelijk zijn ontworpen om meerdere relieken van een heilige, martelaar, godheid of ander geheiligd persoon te bevatten en tentoon te stellen. Later is de term ook gaan verwijzen naar soortgelijke kasten die bedoeld waren voor historische artefacten of curiositeiten van enige soort, doorgaans van gering formaat en met een gemeenschappelijk thema. |
Italian ..... Mobili con molte aperture o cassetti, che erano originariamente per contenere e mostrare reliquie di un santo, martire, divinità, o altra persona santa. Più tardi il termine arrivò a significare armadi simili intesi a contenere manufatti storici o curiosità di qualsiasi tipo, di solito di dimensioni modeste e con un tema comune. |
