| Dutch ..... Leden van een orde van papegaaiachtigen bestaande uit 21 levende soorten die worden aangetroffen in Australië, op Nieuw-Guinea en op de Salomonseilanden. Ze kenmerken zich door een gebogen snavel en voeten met twee voorwaartse en twee achterwaartse tenen, en verschillen van echte papegaaien door hun opvallende beweegbare kuif, de aanwezigheid van een galblaas en een kleurpatroon van wit, zwart of grijs met toefjes rood of geel in plaats van het heldere groen en blauw van echte papegaaien. |
