Note: Genus of ruminant, hollow-horned mammals containing seven to nine species, including the wild goat, ibexes, the markhor, and the subspecies of domestic goat. The classification of goats is in flux based on new DNA research, and in some older classifications includes Ovis (sheep) and Ammotragus (Barbary Sheep), which are separate genera in other classifications. The Rocky Mountain goat is a separate genus, Oreamnos.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 屬名，會反芻、角中空的哺乳類，共有七到九個物種，其中包括野生山羊、羱羊、捻角山羊，以及馴養山羊的亞種。由於最新的DNA研究，使得山羊的分類法不斷變動，在舊的分類法中包含了綿羊屬（綿羊）與髯羊屬（北非髯羊），而這兩者在其他分類法中是獨立的屬。落磯山山羊則歸類為獨立的「北美山羊屬」。 |
