Spanish ..... Úsese para los magistrados electos con este título en la Roma Republicana que ejecutaban algunos de los deberes de los cónsules, de quienes estaban subordinados. Usado también para magistrados en jefe o alcaldes en los siglos XVII y XVIII en Italia, que usaron este título.
